Qiyam: 8-month diploma

Qiyam: Rise with Character and Faith is a transformative 8-Month Diploma in Islamic Learning & Character Building, beginning this August — a thoughtfully curated program crafted to enrich and broaden participants’ Islamic knowledge, refine personal character, and instill lasting values rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Open to students, working professionals, and seekers of structured religious learning, Qiyam provides a flexible and impactful educational journey.


The curriculum includes subjects like Tafseer (Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran), Tajweed, Tarjuma (First 10 Ajza), Seerat, Personality Development, Philosophy & Theology and Monthly Themes — offering a rich balance of classical scholarship and real-world relevance to strengthen faith and practice.


With four convenient scheduling options available (weekends or weekday evenings), participants can customize their learning experience by enrolling in individual subjects or pursuing the full diploma. Designed for both males and females aged 15 and above, Qiyam ensures an inclusive, inspiring, and engaging environment for all learners.


Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates from Al-Kawthar University, Itehad ul Madaris Al Islamia and Sindh Board of Technical Education, acknowledging their successful participation in the program.

Subjects Offered

The program offers a comprehensive range of subjects that blend traditional Islamic scholarship with character development.

  • Tafseer (Surah Al-Baqarah)

    Selected passages from Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran will be taught with deep explanation of core themes, including theological concepts, commands and prohibitions, historical events, and moral guidance. The course will highlight practical lessons, social and ethical implications, and contextual meanings using both classical Tafasir and modern scholarly perspectives. Emphasis will be on understanding the Quran's guidance in today’s world.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will understand the major themes and inner meanings of Surah Al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran.
    • They will learn to relate Quranic commands and stories to real-life situations and societal challenges.
    • Students will be able to extract and apply Quranic guidance for personal development, ethical behavior, and communal responsibilities.

  • Tarjuma (Surah Al-Baqarah)

    Students will engage in translating selected chapters of the Quran (focusing on the first 10 paras) while learning the basics of Arabic grammar, root analysis, sentence structure, and vocabulary building.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will be able to translate basic Quranic passages accurately.
    • They will grasp foundational translation methodology and linguistic patterns in Quranic Arabic.
    • The course will enhance their understanding of Quranic messages directly from the source text.

  • Tajweed

    This subject introduces students to the foundational principles of Tajweed, focusing on correct articulation (makharij), pronunciation (sifat), and application through guided recitation of selected Quranic verses.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will accurately pronounce each letter with its proper characteristics.
    • Students will be able to recite the Quran fluently and correctly, observing all essential Tajweed rules.
    • They will build confidence in public Quranic recitation and salah recitations.

  • Seerat

    The course covers the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from his birth to departure, emphasizing pivotal events and their relevance to leadership, emotional intelligence, family life, patience, communication, and resilience.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will develop a heartfelt connection with the Prophet ﷺ.
    • They will draw practical guidance for decision-making, interpersonal relations, and moral courage.
    • The Seerah will serve as a blueprint for values-based leadership in today's world.

  • Philosophy & Theology

    This subject introduces students to fundamental questions of existence, reason, purpose, and belief, using selected topics from classical Islamic theology (Aqidah) and general philosophy. Core themes include:

    • Rational proofs of God’s existence
    • Human purpose and morality
    • The concept of truth and falsehood
    • The problem of evil and suffering
    • Prophethood and revelation
    • Islamic vs. Western philosophical perspectives
    • Brief comparative insight into atheism, materialism, and postmodernism
    All content is simplified and tailored to teenage/adult learners with examples from Islamic tradition, Quran, and logic.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will be able to articulate Islamic beliefs rationally and defend them with reason and evidence.
    • They will understand how Islamic theology addresses big philosophical questions.
    • Students will be better prepared to respond to modern doubts (shubuhāt) about God, religion, and morality.
    • The course will develop critical thinking, intellectual humility, and a deep conviction in faith.

  • Personality Development

    Students will study the lives of four role models:

    • 8 Sahaba (Companion of the Prophet ﷺ)
    • 8 Islamic Hero (Like Salahuddin Ayyubi)
    • 8 Islamic Scholar (Like Imam Ghazali)
    • 8 Non-Muslim with universal moral impact (Like Nelson Mandela)
    Focus will be on their values, ethics, achievements, and legacy.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will internalize traits such as honesty, discipline, bravery, selflessness, and intellectual curiosity.
    • They will be inspired to model their character and ambition on real-life heroes.
    • The subject promotes interfaith understanding by acknowledging shared values.

  • Monthly Themes

    Each month introduces one habit, such as goal-setting, time management, empathy, accountability, self-purification, and teamwork, adapted into an Islamic context using Quranic verses, Hadith, and examples from Islamic history.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Students will develop personal effectiveness in academics, family, and society.
    • They will form disciplined routines rooted in Islamic ethics.
    • This subject fosters emotional maturity, problem-solving, and self-leadership.

Flexible Class Schedules

To support learners from different backgrounds, Qiyam offers multiple flexible class schedules that suit both weekday and weekend availability.

  • Option 1: Saturday & Sunday – 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Option 2: Monday to Thursday – 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Option 3: Saturday + Monday & Tuesday
  • Option 4: Sunday + Tuesday & Wednesday

You can take individual subjects or complete the full diploma.
